 EVALUATE THE RESPONSE (D1:U21)

Feedback from the client: useful considerations and requirements

I have evaluated the feedback i received from the client thoroughly and have concluded the feedback i will and will not be implementing in the product creation as i believe some of the feedback was unnecessary when taking into account the progression of my magazine however most of the feedback was very advantageous.

The body copy and coverline font won't print well and is a bit hard to read

I will definitely be considering this feedback and taking it on board because when there is a busy background i would like the font and writing to be bold and clear for the consumers to read, of course it is difficult to see this through a digital mock up thus in future i will need to consider how the font will print out during pre-product creation. Therefore when creating the magazine i will ensure that i have chosen fonts that will compliment the backgrounds and will not fade into them and be difficult to read for the consumers as i would like to maximise customer satisfaction. In addition to this i will change the body copy to a font that is bold and evident compared to the serif font to ensure the text is easy to read for the readers.

Ensure to keep the magazine local when thinking about distribution, marketing and target audience

I understood from the feedback that i misread the requirements of the brief slightly and i need to focus on specialising the magazine within North London rather than globally or nationally yet as it is an independent film magazine and thus a less popular magazine. I recognised that my marketing also needs to be more local rather than the broad span of social media- therefore to combat this when creating the magazine i will hand out leaflets in local production houses and cinemas about the magazine and where to find them, being in local stores and supermarkets, to ensure i am reaching the correct range of readers and meeting the requirements of Cinecloud's client brief, i will also ensure to make it clear on the front cover that this is a North London based magazine as that acts as the niche and the USP.

Ensure that the target audience is concrete and clear due to the masthead of the magazine

I completely understand the concerns around the masthead (mature reference) of the magazine being 'LUST' and the unspecified target audience- i will most definitely be considering this feedback when marketing the magazine as i would not want any negative backlash on who my magazine is targeted towards therefore i will specify my primary target audience to be women 18-35 due to the mature title and make that explicitly clear on the front page to avoid further confusion. To confirm the target audience age range i will further put age restrictions on social media platforms and ensure the platform is confirming the age before they enter the website of the magazine or any ads for marketing and advertising.

There need to be more features of independent films and new film releases

This piece of feedback i will certainly take into account as this is another feature of the client brief that i misread, i will ensure to include a new release indie film on the front cover whenever possible to help promote indie creators as this is one of the main purposes of the magazine. I will also implement independent films as sub-features throughout the magazine to maximise the exposure of the indie genre and films within it, i will undoubtedly be applying this feedback when producing the magazine and the factors and content imbedded in it.

promote streaming platforms on front cover

This piece of feedback from the client was a helpful reminder to include this on the front cover due to the requirements of the brief as this allows the promotion of the streaming platforms to inform readers- i also will need to implement the streaming platforms on the double page spread as this is what i needed to prepare therefore it will allow the client to view my overall understanding of the client brief requirements to ensure i promote the streaming platforms.
